In case you missed it, Nike also revealed new uniforms for 8 NCAA Men’s Basketball teams.

Continuing my last post, I’d have to say that of the uniforms I’ve seen thus far, the Seahawks uniform is my favorite… maybe some favoritism was given due to the team being so close to Nike HQ. That being said here are some detail shots of the Seahawks’ uniforms.

NIKE seems to be on a mission to completely redesign sports uniforms in general. The design sense that was used to create the new University of Oregon football uniforms has been translated across the entire NFL.
Some of these uniforms definitely look better than others, and some of the design choices may not have quite the same level of thought and rationale that was given to Oregon’s uniforms, but this could be the start of major change in approach to uniform design.
32 teams is a lot to post… so here’s some detail shots on a generic one.

Some people love these uniforms… some people hate them, I personally think they’re pretty hot, especially the gloves. They have a very unique and artistic design that apparently has function.
The bright neon on black brings the opponent’s eyes to the fastest moving parts of the player’s bodies, making the players appear to be moving faster than they are.
What do you think? Putting feelings for the team aside, do you like or dislike?

It’s football season so I found it only fitting to post this illustrative ad of Larry Fitzgerald and Troy Polamalu I found. These pieces are illustrated by Grzegorz Domaradzki aka Gabz and are part of the Prepare for Combat campaign by Nike.
Yes, Nike does it yet again, and with such a powerful and well established brand they really seem to be pushing new ways to keep their whole aesthetic fresh, and as far as I can tell it’s working. Anyway, I found it a pretty interesting change from the high contrast and dramatic photography that Nike has been leveraging and become well known for, but it works pretty well and it’s a nice demonstration of how Illustration can still be used in today’s design world.
